We made this song with a love for classic ragtime and the lively energy of Dominican music. It’s a satirical look at a certain type of man who left the island for a better life in America, yet spends his days complaining about “racist Whites” while clinging to a one-sided version of his heritage and ignoring inconvenient facts.

The track follows a proud, stubborn father whose own son has started questioning the stories he was raised on. Through bouncing ragtime piano mixed with merengue and bachata rhythms, the song pokes fun at denial, selective pride, and the refusal to look in the mirror — all while keeping the humor sharp and the groove strong.

Like our other releases, this is music that isn’t afraid to rib anyone and everyone. We believe in keeping the old tradition of unfiltered, good-natured (and sometimes not-so-good-natured) satire alive.
